Blue Strike works with roughly 85 special events and venues designing zero waste programs. Each program is designed using the same framework: create a baseline assessment, determine gaps and barriers in procurement and hauling logistics, and determine a recommended path forward to divert at least 90% of the waste materials from the landfill. This involves transitioning procurement to reusable and compostable items, source separating construction and demolition materials, developing community partnerships to donate leftover food and hard to manage items, participating in state mandated recycling programs such as carpet and mattress programs, and overseeing the waste hauling logistics process.
