Project: SB 1383 Contamination Monitoring

Blue Strike is providing SB 1383 contamination monitoring “lid flipping” services on behalf of Greenwaste Recovery (Greenwaste) throughout the Santa Cruz region’s service territory (County of Santa Cruz, Capitola and Scotts Valley) over monitoring cycles for years 2022, 2023, and 2024. The goal of the project is to establish an annual baseline of contamination in the existing organic waste stream in jurisdictions through Greenwaste’s Santa Cruz region service territory in compliance with SB 1383. Monitoring includes recycling, organics and trash monitoring at both residential and commercial accounts. Results are entered into the Recyclist data management system adhering to SLCP section 1899.1 (c) data components. Blue Strike provides similar contamination monitoring services for additional Green Waste service locations including ReGen Monterey jurisdictions and Los Altos Hills, as well as other jurisdictions in California.
