As this project launches, our goal is to develop an updated Climate Action Plan (CAP) that will define strategic priorities to help the campus achieve its greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals with just and inclusive approaches. For this project, we are aligning the campus decarbonization goals with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI) and the Paris Accords target to help limit warming to 1.5° C. The CAP will address Scopes 1 and 2 GHG emissions and will determine both the extent to which and in what manner Scope 3 can be addressed. The CAP shall address climate justice, resiliency, and the financial viability of all recommended strategies. The plan is intended to serve as a long-term living document that will be periodically reviewed and updated.
